FATTAH: Cross Index of Political Donors and City Beneficiaries

As part of my ethics plan, I have pledged to post on the city’s eContract Philly website any consultants or lobbyists that a vendor may have utilized in pursuit of all city contracts. Any sub-contractors used by the vendor will also be clearly disclosed.

The website will link to, or provide, records of campaign contributions made by the vendor, its owners or executives, or by the consultants, lobbyists, or sub-contractors to any city official.

He has responded affirmatively to the questions on corruption. If he wins, I hope he carries through with these promises. My chief concern with Fattah and corruption is his history. He took campaign contributions that exceeded the funding limits in city legislation before he declared his candidacy, meeting the letter but not the spirit of the law. He has not fully disclosed his income. Lastly, he gave the eulogy for Ron White He did this after it was clear to everyone that White had been a hugely corrupting force in this city and siphoned off millions from the airport. He can say he did it because they were friends. Nevertheless, you are defined by the friends you keep and these types of friends start with asking for small favors and then bigger ones. Fattah has to explain how he will divorce himself from corrupt and corrupting friends. Can Fattah separate himself from his past and his connections to the corrupt city machine?

I like the spirit of the answer but the answer does not address the question which asks for a one stop list showing who has gotten what from the City and who has received what from the City. The preparation of the list would be a pain in the neck but, with such a list, any citizen could observe who is scratching who's back.
