EVANS: Legacy

I would like my overarching legacy to be having made Philadelphia the safest big city in America. In order to accomplish this, we will need a more effective law enforcement system, a criminal justice system that is not a revolving door, quality economic and education opportunities, and community as well as parental involvement.

I believe that my experience in making West Oak Lane a thriving community, as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee for 17 years, and as a consistent leader on issues like crime reduction, school reform and economic development make me ideally suited for this task. I appreciate your interest in my campaign and look forward to working with you to move Philadelphia forward.

In tonight's WHYY debate Evans was not the attack dog he was in the debate a couple of weeks ago. He also did not just reiterate campaign nuggets not matter what the question as he did previously. He showed more humor and poise. He still needs to work to show he can listen as well as talk. Clearly he is better than Fattah and Brady and he has not tied up with Blackwell, who tried to block amny of Nutter's reforms.
