BUSINESS TAXES

84% of the respondents believe that the current City business tax structure discourages job growth and hampers business development. The 2003 Tax Reform Commission recommended phasing out both the net income and gross receipts portion of the Business Privilege Tax over ten years, ten per percent a year.

Would you commit to following the Commission’s schedule? If not, what would you do instead? If you disagree with the Commission’s schedule, what do you recommend regarding the Business Privilege tax?

Corruption and taxes are paramount on peoples minds but for some reason people feel they cannot do anything about it. Look at the casinos coming in at the back door and how stupid the state is in disregarding the displeasure among the folks in queen village, bella vista, society hill...traffic is already bad...how are we to handle it. Police are not around like they used to be. With added stress of tax hikes. tax structure(businees.wage. real estate), and casinos...our city will increase in crime, social ills, illegal immigration. ..we will be near the bottom if not the bottom for the least popular and backwards city. With all the supposely great minds...no penn landing or newmarket replacement develpment yet..what a laugh...if Ben Franklen, Thomas Jefferson, etc see us now..what a disspointment this city would be to them
I and others will fight to have a voice..bad politicans out...new blood...city for the people, by the people...not for those who decide with their pockets and no hearts and souls...a long fight ahead this is our city
